We Help Infants, Toddlers, and Preschoolers In the Primary Developmental Areas:

  • Fine and Gross Motor Skills
  • Cognition, Language
  • Adaptive Life Skills
  • Social/Emotional Skills

Research has shown that providing a child with Autism access to intense ABA therapy early on can change the trajectory of his development. The growth and development that takes place during the early childhood years creates the foundation upon which lifelong learning is built. For the child with Autism, early intensive behavioral therapy during these early developmental years is critical, ensuring that these important building blocks are in place. At The Puzzle Place, we offer an Early Intensive Behavioral Intervention (EIBI) approach, with ongoing support as the children age into the school system. See what services work for your child.

Social Skills Group

Making friends involves an array of complex skills, from taking turns, to initiating interactions, considering others’perspectives, negotiating, problem-solving, repairing communication breakdowns, and being flexible.

For many children, these skills can be incredibly challenging, often resulting in difficulty with making friends. Social groups are designed to help children develop and practice social skills in a supportive therapeutic setting. Many children lack the necessary skills to navigate peer relationships. Social group therapy directly teaches and practices any specific social skills a child may be struggling with.

     We focus on:

  • Social and Emotional Skills
  • Self-regulation
  • Executive functioning skills
  • Game playing/taking turns
  • Winning and losing gracefully
  • Following and giving directions from peers
  • Communication skills appropriate language and behavior to us in a social setting
